Nottingham/Manchester collective Crazy P are currently setting the scene for their upcoming new album Age Of The Ego (due May 3) and a first live show in Dublin in over 10 years! Today they’re unveiling the project’s lead single “S.O.S”, inspired by their dissatisfaction with the current state of the world, from the pervasiveness of social media to the divisiveness of British politics. While you might expect such sentiments to reveal themselves in something dark or angry, sonically speaking, “S.O.S” has a vibrancy that’s hard not to feel energised by.
Lead s inger Danielle Moore said: “It’s been hard to not be emotionally influenced by the situation we find ourselves in; not just in this country, but worldwide. I feel very angry and frustrated, but sometimes have to laugh at myself, because I struggle to articulate my feelings in normal conversation. I suppose lyrically it is political, a reflection of the times, but with a twist of humour and always a lot of love.”
